Air recovery: is it needed in a house near Kiev?

06-07-2026

Supply and exhaust ventilation with heat recovery

The increase in the cost of electricity consumption over time necessitates the search for productive ways to save heat. But not all owners of residential and office premises know that heat loss in winter is mainly caused by ventilation, despite an energy-efficient house with sealed windows. According to statistics, from 30 to 60% of heat goes away with the air removed from the room. Supply and exhaust ventilation with a decentralized recuperator will be a reasonable compromise between energy efficiency and ventilation properties of the building.

Ventilation with recuperation takes heat from the air flow leaving the insulated house and transfers it to the flow coming from the street. As a result, the fresh air temperature will be close to the room temperature and will hardly require heating. This significantly saves costs on electric heating.

Structurally, the equipment is a box that has an inlet and outlet. Inside the box is the main component responsible for air exchange. In addition, the wall-mounted recuperator also has filters that clean both air flows. This is important for human health in the room and to protect the heat exchanger from debris. The devices usually have automation, with which the power of the entire ventilation system is regulated according to user requests.

Types of air recovery devices in the house

There are many different types of heat exchangers on the market today. Each of them has its own characteristics and specifics of operation:

Lamellar

This is a home heat exchanger, the price of which depends on the type of plates. Depending on the material from which these plates are made, the efficiency of the device itself is determined.

Metal ones are not considered the best choice, since they can freeze in frost, after which they take a long time to thaw. The price of plastic ones is slightly higher, but they do not freeze and are much more efficient in operation. They can be used in rooms with high humidity, but require the presence of a condensate collection tray in the design. Heat exchangers made of polymerized paper do not create condensate and do not dry the air, but are not suitable for humid rooms.

Rotary recuperators

They are made in a cylindrical shape, consist of an aluminum rotor in a galvanized steel housing. The devices work by rotating a drum, which is heated in the exhaust channel area and cooled in the supply channel.

Enthalpy

They are able to recover not only heat, but also moisture, working with a heat recovery efficiency of 80-85%. The principle of operation is multi-stage heat recovery due to a membrane located inside, working like a sponge. There is no mixing of flows.

Is a heat recovery unit needed in a private house: its main advantages

The integration of these systems is becoming increasingly popular in various types of premises, including private houses near Kiev, cottages and office centers that have gas heating. Such ventilation installation is explained by the following advantages:

  • Energy savings and reduced financial costs for heating the house.
  • Air quality - the presence of filters makes it possible to create a healthy atmosphere indoors.
  • Absence of mold and foreign odors in the room.
  • Reduction of CO2 emissions.
  • Increase in investment attractiveness and market value of real estate.

Modern ventilation systems with heat recovery near Kiev are easily integrated during the construction of a house and in already constructed private houses. This makes them a universal ventilation project under any conditions in the Kiev region - Bucha, Irpin, Brovary, Vyshgorod, Obukhiv, Gatne, Kryukiv region.

The price of heat recovery during the construction or renovation of a house is determined individually. Despite the high cost of the recuperator, in the end this device shows a good payback.
