Calculation of sockets in the apartment - advice from experts

It is recommended to plan the electrical connection points at the stage of preparing the walls for puttying. At the same time, wires are laid, gaps are made, which are later masked with plaster or drywall, and cables are laid. It is important when designing the electrical network to determine where circuit breakers will be installed and where stationary household appliances will be located.

As for the number of sockets for each room, here it is necessary to be guided by the principle - the more there are, the better. For each device that is in daily use, it is worth assigning one socket. You also need to take care of backup sockets - for charging gadgets and other devices that are turned on from time to time.

How many sockets are needed in an apartment can be determined using the following calculation rules:

  • for convenience, create a table indicating rooms and sockets;
  • for each room, the calculation of electrical points is carried out separately;
  • as a result, you need to check the calculations again - the number of sockets and posts in the table should match.

A rough table looks like this:

Electrical installation standards provide for the installation of sockets for sockets in the workplace segment in the room. Double sockets or a panel with 5-7 sockets will allow you to completely avoid problems with extension cords and tees.

Electrical safety rules are no less important. The recommended height for installing sockets is within 10-15 cm from the floor level. Thus, after installing the furniture, the user will be able to conveniently reach the desired power point. At the same time, the installation of electrical accessories for hoods, air conditioners and lighting must be located above, providing comfortable access for a person.

Room-by-room installation: how many sockets are needed in an apartment

To avoid a load on the electrical network, you need to take into account certain rules for connecting electrical appliances. General recommendations for individual types of premises are as follows:

  • Hallway. In this place, sockets are usually used to connect a shoe dryer and a vacuum cleaner for cleaning. Therefore, 1-2 of them will be quite enough.
  • Bathroom. The requirements for electrical installation in this room include compliance with the IP44 protection class and the presence of grounding. One point for the washing machine is installed 60 cm from the floor, two more - near the mirror. The socket for the shower or jacuzzi must be disguised behind a decorative wall.
  • Kitchen. Electrical work here involves installing points for a refrigerator, microwave, stove and oven - their height should be 30-60 cm from the floor. Sockets for TV and hoods are placed directly under the ceiling or 2 meters from the floor. For small appliances, you will need two blocks of three sockets directly above the worktop of the work area.
  • Living room. Sockets in rooms of this type work constantly, as a TV, router, set-top boxes are connected to them. For TV, the points are located directly behind the devices. Sockets for charging gadgets, table lamps or floor lamps will be appropriate near the sofa. They are installed at a height of 30 cm from the floor.

In the bedroom, power points are usually used to connect lamps or devices that need charging. Ideally, a safe location of sockets involves placing them at the head of the room, near the bedside tables on both sides of the bed. Another socket may be needed on the wall for the TV - if it matches the interior design. It is also worth installing a power point near the dressing table - for using a hairdryer, hair straightener, etc.
