Types of dismantling: capital structures, internal partitions, engineering networks

What is dismantling: what are the features?

Any dismantling process requires consistency to comply with safety precautions and work efficiency. Usually, the main stages of dismantling work are as follows:

  • Preparation for repair. Specialists assess the condition of the structure, the type of materials used for construction, and the presence of main walls with communications. If necessary, at this stage, communications are disconnected and a safe work area is organized.
  • Dismantling. The list of works in this case depends on the selected type. They may include partial removal of individual elements, complete dismantling of lintels or walls, cutting new openings for windows and doors, and dismantling of concrete structures. The specifics of such works are determined in advance when drawing up a plan.
  • Removal and disposal of construction waste. Usually, during such work, a lot of different waste accumulates in the form of concrete, broken bricks, wood, metal, plastic, etc.

There are certain norms for the removal and disposal of materials, which are regulated by the legislation of Ukraine. According to them, metal elements are handed over for processing to scrap acceptance points. Concrete and brick are recyclable and can be used as construction fill. Wood can also be reused, and if this is not possible, it can be burned in authorized places. As for hazardous waste in the form of asbestos, paint, and foam, they are disposed of at a licensed landfill.

Proper demolition work is of great importance. Without it, it is impossible to reconstruct old coatings, partitions, or communications. Installing new elements makes it possible to prevent damage to load-bearing structures that affect the stability of the building. Dismantling emergency elements prevents destruction and allows you to free up space for new construction.

What types of dismantling are there?

This type of work involves the provision of various services. This may include dismantling cladding, removing laminate or parquet, removing old doors and windows, as well as industrial dismantling.

From this point of view, the following types of dismantling can be distinguished:

  • Partial dismantling

In this case, floor or wall tiles are removed, after which the base is cleaned. This type of work also includes manual dismantling in the form of removing paper or liquid wallpaper with preparation of walls for painting or new decoration. Parquet or laminate is dismantled, doors are removed, old drywall on the ceiling or walls is removed, surfaces are cleaned of old plaster.

  • Construction

It refers to dismantling of medium complexity. Typically, such work involves demolishing walls, dismantling partitions, removing old bathrooms, cutting new openings for windows, doors, ventilation, etc. At these stages, various technologies are used - laser, hydroabrasive, oxygen, etc.

  • Capital

Most often it is a mechanized dismantling, which requires the use of heavy special equipment. Usually in such cases, concrete is dismantled, the roof is removed, entire buildings are demolished. This segment also includes the dismantling of metal structures in the form of dismantling frames, billboards, trusses, etc.

Industrial dismantling includes the demolition of workshops, pipes, boilers and other equipment at large facilities.
