This type of mortar application is a modern method of leveling walls and ceilings. A special station is used in the work, which ensures high speed and reliability of the coating. In addition, using this method, you can count on saving materials.
The basic principle of the plastering machine is to automate the process of mixing and applying the mortar. The machine itself consists of several basic elements:
- a hopper into which the dry mixture and other components of the mortar are poured;
- a mixer that helps to thoroughly mix this mixture with water to obtain a uniform consistency;
- a hose with which the mortar is supplied to the processing site;
- a gun for application - thanks to it, the cement plaster evenly lies on the surface.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of machine plastering: expert advice
There are no fundamental differences in the composition of mixtures for manual and mechanized plastering. Usually, solutions are prepared on the basis of gypsum or cement. However, for plastering by machine, special additives are added to these mixtures, thanks to which the mass does not stick to the elements of the mechanism. The advantages of machine plastering are the following:
- ideal surface quality - the mixture is homogeneous, without lumps and with an ideal adhesion effect;
- saving materials - per m2, the amount of mixture to be used is much less than in manual work;
- high adhesion with a large layer thickness - it is achieved by supplying the mixture under pressure, as a result of which the surface is extremely smooth;
- reduction in the number of workers and the absence of the human factor - only 2-3 people can cope with machine plastering.
In addition, it should be noted environmental friendliness, since the machine method can be used on any objects, and durability of the coating.
The disadvantages of this method include the somewhat high cost of work, equipment and operation. A plastering station is a rather large mechanism that requires access to electricity and water supply. During operation, it creates noise, so working with such a machine in apartment buildings in the evenings and on weekends is quite difficult.
Is it worth doing machine plastering?
This method is definitely advisable to use when it is necessary to process medium and large areas. Such work will be several times faster and will generally cost much cheaper - within 30-50%. This format is recommended for wallpapering, and when glossing - for painting.
This method is advisable to choose if the surface area is larger than 50 - 100 m². This method will also come in handy when it is necessary to quickly make repairs, or when it is extremely important to obtain geometric evenness of the walls.

However, machine plastering is not profitable to use in small rooms - for example, in one room or bathroom - due to the complexity of delivery and equipment setup. In addition, it is worth noting that the drying time of machine mixtures is somewhat longer than manual counterparts. All this must be taken into account when deciding on the right method during repair or construction.
